  • Axiom® by Formica Group proud to support the Made in Britain campaign

    British and Proud of it!

At Wood2U we are proud of the products we supply and we always think long and hard before introducing a new line to our customers. This is why we are especially proud to be supplying the Formica Group’s leading range of Axiom kitchen worktops, splashbacks and upstands which represent the hallmark of quality in the kitchen industry.

Manufactured in Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, the British heritage of the brand is what makes it special. Carrying the ‘Made in Britain’ logo the Formica Group’s kitchen range is in every sense a British product and we are excited about offering this range to our customers.

The ‘Made in Britain’ message is a message that has certainly gained more traction in recent times. The Olympics, Diamond Jubilee, and Royal Wedding have all been powerful representations of what it is like to be British and the profile that Britain has in music, film and fashion has made Britain a country that people look to when they are looking for creativity, craftsmanship and innovation.

On the back of this there has been a strong resurgence by British manufacturers to use the prestigious ‘Made in Britain’ logo because they know the influence that it can have. Increasingly British consumers want to use British-made products because they know that they will be high quality, tested to stringent standards and will give them value for money. The Formica Group’s range of kitchen worktops, splashbacks and upstands are all these things!

Installing a new kitchen is an important decision and it is vitally important that you choose products that are manufactured to the highest standards, are built to last and will give you the best value for your hard-earned cash. The fact that the Formica Group of products is British through and through is an absolute bonus!

  • Top Tips when planning to redecorate for Spring 2014

It’s getting to that time of year when the nights are getting a little bit lighter and our minds are turning to spring. It’s also that time of year when we start looking around our homes and start recognising all those little jobs that need doing and how drab things are starting to look. As the winter blues turns into spring colour the DIYers amongst us start to get twitchy and for those of us who would rather bring the professionals in, spring is a time of renewal and redecorating!

So how can you give your home a facelift and make the transition from winter to spring a creative one? Here are a few tips to get you started:

    • Nothing says spring like flowers so it’s time to bring the outdoors inside and have vases of daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers in your home. This will cheer you up immediately!
    • Give your living room a fresh lick of paint. Maybe go for an accent wall and select a vibrant spring colour like Yellow or Pink. This will inject vibrancy into the room.
    • Let there be light. Take down heavy linen curtains and replace with lighter fabrics and pastel colours to make the most out of the light.
    • Inject pattern into a room by getting some new wallpaper. Contemporary floral designs can create a whole new ambiance to a room and breathe new life into a living room setting.
    • Update your bedroom linen with fresh, crisp white sheets and choose subtle pastel shades for duvets and scatter cushions.
    • Introduce brightly coloured cushions, throws and vases into a room and make a splash of colour.

Of course you don’t have to make a change to a wall colour or with new fabrics to make an impact. A sure fire way of making a statement to a neutral scheme is by having a brand new laminate floor which can make the whole room feel like that it’s had a makeover!

At Wood 2 U we have a huge range of laminate flooring to choose from and it needn’t cost a fortune to give your home a new lease of life this spring. Please browse our website and if you fancy a change then please give us a call. We will be more than happy to tell you about our latest offers.
