Can you paint vinyl flooring?
While it isn't recommended to paint vinyl flooring, you can by thoroughly cleaning and sanding the surface for better adhesion (we recommend waiting 12 months before starting this process to better wear the vinyl). Apply a vinyl-specific primer, followed by acrylic latex or epoxy-based paint in thin, even coats, allowing each coat to dry before proceeding. Apply a clear sealer or polyurethane finish to protect the painted surface. Remember to give the paint and sealer adequate time to cure before using the floor and bear in mind that painted vinyl flooring might not be as durable as alternative painted flooring.
